Tuesday AM – Princess Anne Campus
Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin
Location: Princess Anne Campus, The Abbey
Date/Time: Tuesdays 9:30AM to 11:00AM, beginning September 14th
Facilitator: Leslie Hart
Childcare available through the YMCA
In His sweeping depiction of kingdom citizenship, Jesus utters some of the most familiar passages in all of Scripture. Most of us have only encountered the Sermon on the Mount in fragments, considering its subdivisions as complete teachings in their own right – a study on blessedness, a reflection on the Lord’s Prayer, a meditation on lilies of the field. But what if we navigated these three chapters as they were originally heard: as one cohesive, well-ordered message, intended to challenge us to think differently about repentance, salvation, and sanctification? This 9-week study led by Jen Wilkin does just that. Seat yourself on a mountainside to learn at the feet of Jesus. Ask for ears to hear and a heart to respond to the teaching of our King.
Tuesday AM — Stuttgart Campus
Because of Bethlehem by Max Lucado
Date/Time: Tuesdays 9:30AM to 10:30AM, beginning November 30th
Book Fee: $10
Max Lucado loves Christmas. Let the sleigh bells ring. Let the carolers sing. The more Santas the merrier. The more trees the better. He loves it because somewhere someone will ask the Christmas questions: What’s the big deal about the baby in the manger? Who was he? What does his birth have to do with me?
And the answers he’s found give us all hope. God knows what it’s like to be a human. When we talk to him about deadlines or long lines or tough times, he understands. He’s been there. He’s been here. Because of Bethlehem, we have a friend in heaven. And Christmas begins what Easter celebrates. The child in the cradle became the King on the cross. Because of Bethlehem, we have a Savior in heaven.
